Your data lives in your home
Your photos, files, and messages belong on hardware you own — or hosted on your terms, never mined. We don't sell your data, and we don't run ads against your life. The business is software and hardware people choose to pay for, not attention we sell to someone else.
Open by default
Quickring is a published standard, not a walled garden. Source is open (Apache-2.0); the spec is open (CC-BY-4.0). Anyone can build a Quickring home or a Quickring app. The only things we keep closed are the brand and trademarks — so "Quickring" always means the real thing.
No lock-in
Because it's a standard and your address is portable, you can leave. Take your home to your own hardware, federate with whoever you like, keep you@quickring.me or move it. A home you can't leave isn't a home — it's a lease.
Private between consenting homes
Federation happens between homes that invite each other, not between anonymous strangers. Connections are end-to-end encrypted. You decide which doors open and to whom.
It should just work
Privacy and ownership shouldn't require a systems administrator. Sign up and it works on day one; go deeper only if you want to. Calm, quiet, and out of your way — like a good home should be.
